In 2021, I led the strategy for the evolution and scalability of TIM Design System ecosystem, structured to serve both the Meu TIM app and the tim.com.br website. The architecture was split across two tech stacks: a Flutter-based library for logged-in areas (focused on the app) and a Web Components library for unauthenticated areas (focused on the website). During the first year, I directed part of the team to build the mobile DS backlog, while another group worked alongside the web team on evolving components for the site’s new CMS modules. This effort culminated in the creation of a centralized TIM DS portal to streamline access and adoption across the company.

The main operational challenge was designing and updating critical user journeys in the app while simultaneously building its component library from scratch all without turning design into a bottleneck for engineering. Since the Design System was initially documented only in Figma, it needed to be coded and shipped alongside the app's continuous delivery pipeline. In the second year, I hired an external partner to accelerate the technical development of the DS and established two parallel tracks: one dedicated to designing new product experiences and another focused exclusively on component development and code governance.

This dual-track approach accelerated the launch of the new TIM app while maintaining visual consistency, technical quality, and high delivery velocity. Consolidating the two design systems (Flutter and Web Components) significantly reduced development time for new pages and CMS modules, ensuring cross-channel governance. Furthermore, the centralized documentation and external technical partnership established a scalable operating model that eliminated design debt and supported product growth for millions of users.
